PLACE listing terms

PLACE Technologies Pty Ltd · Last updated 29 October 2026

These terms are for businesses that list home designs on PLACE, such as modular manufacturers, project-home builders, kit-home companies and building designers. "You" means your business. "PLACE", "we" and "us" means PLACE Technologies Pty Ltd.

The short version

  • Your designs and files stay yours. While a home is published, you let PLACE host, convert and show it. Unpublish at any time.
  • Homes are private until you publish them.
  • A$49 per published home per month, plus a one-off A$299 setup per company, both plus GST. You can try up to 3 homes privately for free.
  • PLACE doesn't guarantee enquiries or sales. PLACE doesn't sell homes: buyers deal with you directly.
  • Real-block results are indicative only. The feature is a beta for NSW addresses, and it isn't planning advice or approval.
  • Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. What you get

  • Your homes in PLACE Build. Buyers can open each published home in 3D in the browser, turn it around and try it on a sample block, or on a real NSW block (in beta).
  • Your company page and a page for each home, with your name, logo, brand colour, website, welcome line and, if you add them, your enquiries email or phone.
  • The Performance dashboard in your account: views, plays, real-block tries, AI pictures and shares for your own homes. These are totals only. Any figure under 5 shows as "fewer than 5", and no figure ever identifies a person.

PLACE is self-serve. You set up and manage your listings yourself in your account. Archie, PLACE's AI assistant, can help with exports and questions.

2. Your designs and files

You keep ownership of your designs, 3D files, pictures, logo and words. Listing on PLACE doesn't transfer any of them to us.

While a home is published, you give PLACE a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, convert and show it and your company details:

  • in PLACE Build;
  • on your company page and home pages;
  • in share images and links that people make of your homes;
  • through PLACE's read-only connector for AI assistants, which shares your homes' details and links but never the 3D files; and
  • when PLACE shows what's on PLACE, for example in posts or emails about homes listed on PLACE, including PLACE's own social media posts about your published homes and paid promotion of those posts (the PLACE social boost).

The licence covers each home only while it's published. When you unpublish a home, it comes off your pages, PLACE Build's listings and the AI connector. We can't recall share images or links that people have already saved or sent.

Before you publish, we store and convert your files only so that you can check and preview your homes. Unpublished homes aren't listed, aren't shown on your public pages and aren't available through the AI connector.

When you upload something, you confirm that:

  • you own it or have permission to upload and show it;
  • it's a home design your business offers, and what you say about it is accurate and not misleading; and
  • it doesn't include anyone's personal information, such as a client's name or address.

3. PLACE's own designs and software

PLACE Build, this website and the homes in the PLACE Collection, which are Designed for PLACE, remain PLACE's intellectual property. Listing on PLACE doesn't give you any rights to them. Please don't upload a PLACE Collection design as your own.

4. Taking things down

You can unpublish any home at any time in your account.

If we're told that something on your pages infringes someone's rights, is misleading or breaks the law, and it reasonably looks that way to us, we may unpublish or remove it. We'll tell you by email. To report something on PLACE, email hello@placetechnologies.com.

5. Enquiries and sales

PLACE doesn't guarantee any number of views, enquiries or sales.

Quote requests through PLACE aren't live yet. Buyers contact you directly, through your website or the enquiries email or phone you choose to show. PLACE doesn't pass on or record those messages.

PLACE doesn't sell homes and isn't part of any deal between you and a buyer. Your quotes, prices, contracts, building work and approvals are between you and your buyer.

6. Real-block results

"Try it on a real block" is a beta for NSW addresses only. Its results (Fits, Tight or Check with council) are indicative only. They use usual setback figures, not each council's rules, and show the land as flat. They aren't a survey, planning advice or a planning approval. PLACE doesn't certify or approve homes.

7. Price and payment

  • A$49 per published home per month, plus GST.
  • A$299 setup, once per company, plus GST, charged when you first publish.
  • Trying PLACE is free: you can upload and check up to 3 homes privately, for as long as you like.
  • There are no per-enquiry, per-quote or usage charges. If you have a large catalogue, ask us about volume pricing.
  • Payments are made by card through Stripe. PLACE never sees your card details. You manage your card, invoices and cancelling yourself through "Manage billing" in your account.
  • Publishing another home adds A$49 a month (plus GST) from then on, with a part-month charge for the rest of the current month on your next invoice.

8. Unpublishing, cancelling and refunds

  • You can unpublish a home or cancel at any time. An unpublished home goes back to private and comes off your next bill. Nothing is deleted.
  • Unpublishing your last home ends your subscription at the end of the month you've paid for.
  • There are no refunds for part of a month.
  • The A$299 setup fee is refundable if you unpublish all your homes within 14 days of first publishing. To ask, email hello@placetechnologies.com.
  • PLACE credits, for extras such as AI pictures, follow the PLACE credit terms.

9. If a payment fails

If a payment doesn't go through, your homes stay live while Stripe tries the payment again over the following days, and your account shows "payment due". You can update your card through "Manage billing". If Stripe still can't take the payment and the subscription ends, your homes go back to private. Nothing is deleted, and you can publish again once your billing is sorted.

10. Closing your account

To close your account, email hello@placetechnologies.com from the email you sign in with. We'll delete your account, your business details, your homes and their files within 30 days.

  • The 3D files you upload are deleted automatically 30 days after upload, whatever you do. PLACE keeps the converted model it shows.
  • Deleting a home in your account deletes its 3D files and pictures straight away.
  • Deleted files can stay in our storage's safety copies for up to 6 weeks, and in database backups for up to 14 weeks. After that they're gone.
  • We keep billing and payment records for as long as tax law requires (generally 5 years). Stripe keeps its own records of your payments.

Our privacy notice has the details of what we keep and for how long.

11. Our liability

We'll provide PLACE with due care and skill. PLACE may sometimes be unavailable, and features can change. If we ever stop offering listings, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email and stop charging you.

As far as the law allows, PLACE isn't responsible for lost sales, lost profits or other indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid PLACE for listings in the 12 months before the claim.

Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those rights.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we'll email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect, or at least 30 days before for a price change. If you don't agree, you can unpublish your homes or cancel before then.

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales.
