PLACE
Modular and prefab homes · Australia

From first render to first resident.

PLACE helps developers share their projects and bring the community with them, lets people try a home on their own block, and shows builders what people really care about.

PLACE Projects · for developers

Bring the community with you, before you build.

  • A project page presented by you: renders, key facts, the site in context, benefits to the community, and answers to common questions.
  • People can say they support the project, are undecided or oppose it, answer polls, ask you questions and comment, with moderation.
  • Supporters sign up with consent and share the project on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, with tracking so you see what works.
  • Interest becomes enquiries to buy or rent, handed straight to your sales team or CRM.
  • Always clearly labelled as presented by the developer, never dressed up as independent consultation.

PLACE Build · for home buyers and makers

Like a game. Built for a real decision.

  • Place a home on a block, turn it, and look inside with walls up, cutaway or walls down.
  • Choose walls, roof, frames and deck from the maker's own range. Each choice shows what it adds, and you can compare two looks.
  • See the sun and shade through the day, for any Australian city and any day of the year.
  • Save designs, export a site plan for your architect, and request a quote from the maker.
  • Makers upload the 3D file they already have, or email it and we set it up. They only pay if they're happy with it.

PLACE Pulse · for builders and developers

Know what people care about, not just how many came.

  • Supporters over time, sentiment, and the questions people ask most.
  • Where interest comes from, at postcode level only.
  • From PLACE Build: the finishes people try and choose, how often they check the sun, and which designs become quote requests.
  • An exportable report, with its method and limits stated, for planning submissions and your board.
  • Totals by default. Personal details only when someone asks to be contacted and agrees.

Set up by conversation

Talk to Archie. Archie sets it up.

Archie is PLACE's setup assistant. Tell Archie about your project or your homes, send what you already have, and Archie does the rest with you.

  • Send renders, plans, 3D files, price lists and your logo, in a chat or by email.
  • Archie builds your project page or home listing, your options and your branding, in PLACE's format.
  • If something's missing or doesn't fit, Archie asks, in plain English, and fixes problems as they come up.
  • You see a preview and approve it before anything goes live.

Here are our plans and the SketchUp file for the 2-bed. Colours are in the spreadsheet.
Thanks. Your model was in millimetres, so I've scaled it to 9.6 × 5.2 m, which matches your plans. I've tagged the walls, roof and deck, and turned your 12 colours into options.

One question: two colours share the code TG-CED. Which one is Granite fleck?

Our story

Built on what our clients valued most.

PLACE began with a modular home configurator and a building game. After working in the US, including on Bryant's Ridge, a multifamily modular project, PLACE replatformed as an AI-first company, building on what our clients valued most over the years.

  1. A home for each project online

A project listing where people can see what's planned.

  2. Renders people could picture

3D renders of the homes and the site that people can picture themselves in.

  3. Community support before approval

Engagement with neighbours and future residents that builds support early.

  4. A supporter base

Social channels so supporters can follow and share.

  5. A path to residents

A clear path from interest to buying or renting the homes.

PLACE today

AI-first, from setup to insight.

Archie sets up projects and homes by conversation. PLACE Projects brings the community with you, PLACE Build lets people try homes on a block, and PLACE Pulse shows what's working.

Everything our clients valued, now faster to set up and simpler to run.

Research · October 2026

What the world told us about home.

After PLACE's 2018 TED talk, 774 people from at least 19 countries wrote to us about the home they wanted. We read every message and found seven things they had in common. With Australia now introducing housing pattern books, pre-approved designs that people can choose and adapt, what they told us matters more than ever.

  • Hope after being shut out
  • Choice and control
  • Play makes design feel possible
  • Sustainable and affordable, together
  • A home with purpose and connection
  • A sense of place is a life, not a building
  • The need is local, everywhere

Given the choice, more people wanted to design a home than to buy one. Hope was the most common reason they wrote.
