How it works

Four steps, all self-serve.

  1. Upload

Sign in with your work email and drop in a 3D file you already have: GLB, FBX, OBJ, DAE, STL or PLY. PLACE checks and converts it, usually in a few minutes. Archie shows you how to export.

  2. Your materials, fixtures and fittings

Your textures, materials, fixtures and fittings come through from your 3D file, as you set them up, so buyers see your real specification. Your own finishes range, for buyers to swap between, is coming soon.

  3. See it on a block

Open it in 3D on our sample block, or on a real NSW block (beta, indicative). Walls down, roof off, the sun across the day. Private until you publish.

  4. Publish

Add your logo, colour and welcome line. Your homes go live on your company page, and a Performance dashboard shows how each home is used.

Try it on a real block NSW · beta

Buyers in NSW can even try your home on their own block.

In beta: an indicative fit check, Fits, Tight or Check with council. Buyers type an NSW address and PLACE Build shows the lot on the aerial photo, with its boundary, true north, the sun for that place and the buildings next door.

Indicative, not a survey or planning approval. It uses NSW Government boundaries and aerial photos with typical setbacks, and says so on screen. It doesn't yet know slope or your council's exact rules. Other states will follow, with no dates promised.

Found from AI assistants

Your homes, from Claude and ChatGPT.

PLACE has its own read-only connector for AI assistants. Anyone using Claude, or ChatGPT where custom connectors are available, can add PLACE by its address, placetechnologies.com/mcp, then ask for homes in plain words: bedrooms, size, type of company. Each answer links to the home's page and opens it in PLACE Build. The connector shows only what your public PLACE pages show, never your 3D files.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is it really free to try?

Yes. Up to 3 homes, private, for as long as you like, and no card. You pay only if you publish: A$49 a home, a month + GST, and A$299 one-off setup + GST.

What do I need?

A 3D file of a home you already sell: GLB, FBX, OBJ, DAE, STL or PLY, up to 200 MB. If you draw in SketchUp, Revit, Archicad or similar, it's an export, and Archie, PLACE's AI assistant, shows you how. If you have plans but no 3D model, PLACE isn't a fit yet.

How long does a home take to be ready?

Usually a few minutes after the upload finishes. Larger files take longer.

Who can see my homes before I publish?

Unpublished homes aren't listed or shared. They open only for you, while you're signed in.

Who owns my designs?

You do. While a home is published, PLACE may host, convert and show it. The listing terms set this out in plain English.

How accurate is the real NSW block?

It's a beta for NSW addresses, using NSW Government boundaries and aerial photos with typical setbacks. It's indicative: not a survey or planning approval, and it says so on screen.

How do buyers contact me?

Directly. If you add an enquiries email or phone in your account, your company page and home pages show a Contact box. PLACE doesn't pass on or record those messages. Quote requests through PLACE aren't live yet.

Do you have buyers yet?

Not many, and we'd rather be straight about it. We're inviting housing companies first; buyer marketing starts once there are homes to show. The first value is your own PLACE link in your enquiry replies, website and socials.

Will someone set it up for me?

No. PLACE is self-serve, which is how it stays at A$49. Archie helps with exports and questions at any time.

What if my file doesn't work?

PLACE tells you what's wrong, for example that the home is lying on its side or the units are off, and nothing is charged. Fix it and upload it again, free.
